Onkyo® P-80 Black Network Preamplifier

The Icon Series is not only a complete renewal of Onkyo’s previous hi-hi products, but also the culmination of Onkyo’s accumulated and continuously evolving sound creation technologies and was developed to become the icon of the Onkyo brand.

Quality is King, and Sublime Sound is the Decree

Thanks to patented DIDRC (Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry), the P-80 Network Preamplifier delivers a vivid yet smooth and comfortable sound from any music source. DIDRC is a discrete signal control circuit developed to make digital sound sources such as CDs and music streaming services sound as natural as analog records. This technology has been further refined and is used in the P-80’s the analog filter of the DAC and phono amplifier circuits.

Hardwire your turntable, plug in your CD player, and stream your songs with ease thanks to the Onkyo P-80’s many connectivity options. With 3 pairs of RCA analog inputs, MM/ MC phono, coax, optical, USB-A (Storage Playback) and headphone inputs, you have all the flexibility your music devices need to move you.

Your carefully curated playlists play well with the Onkyo P-80 Network Preamplifier. Seamlessly hardwire or cast your content from any of the following built-in platforms: Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connectt, Amazon Music, Qplay, TuneIn, Works with AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Roon Ready

From Onkyo Academy: The Benefits of a Preamplifier

A preamplifier receives the signal input from your device (music source), and applies tone controls to that signal. You have more control over your audio playback in terms of bass, treble, volume, and more. When Fidelity IQ (Auto Loudness function) is turned on, the system automatically provides optimal audio playback according to any volume in conjunction with the master volume (This function operates independently of Tone Control and can be used in conjunction with Tone Control / Parameters are generated for the viewing environment using the setup microphone during initial setup). This Fidelity IQ goes beyond correcting loudness characteristics. Onkyo’s sound quality engineers adjust the frequency response to provide the most emotional sound possible, regardless of the music genre. Select your source, tweak settings to your liking – which may vary depending on the speakers you listen through, the type of audio being played, the genre of music, etc. – and customize the experience accordingly.

Onkyo builds world-class products for early adaptors and tech enthusiasts. It’s what sets us apart from the rest, and the P-80 Network Preamplifier is no exception to our commitment to impress. That’s why it comes with built-in Dirac Live Room Correction. With frequency response correction (500Hz-20kHz / full version is option), multiple playback modes, and more, this highly sought feature will elevate your listening experience by taking your unique system and room setup into account.
